I truly can't recommend Donald and the rest of these guys enough.
Donald was referred to us by our real estate agent to bring our kitchen back to livable after a previous contractor left it half-demolished. He responded quickly, gave us an estimate that was less than half of what the previous gougers were trying to charge us to finish the job, and immediately got his team working on our kitchen. He and Cesar were amazing in helping us pick out materials (Donald even went on ...

I adopted a three year old cat at the adopt and shop and everyone was so helpful and kind! It is honestly the best thing going giving these animals another chance to be saved and given to a lovely home! My cat and I are so attached. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. Thank you adopt & shop! Also you guys have amazing volunteers and staff who are oh so friendly! Hands down the best pet shop!

Adopt & Shop is such a special and unique place. We have visited the organization at Mission Viejo Mall several times since it opened. We finally found the right fit and adopted our dog four days ago.

Many of the staff and volunteers have years of experience in pet training, pet therapy work and as pet owners. They understand pet behavior and get to know each animal. This allows them to provide you with information about a particular dog's personality, behavior, activity level, sociability, and training needs.

They also care about these animals and want to find them good forever homes. They will tell you about any potential difficulties or concerns that a dog or cat may have, so that you can make an informed decision. All members of your family/household must meet the animal before the adoption is approved. Again, they want to rule out any potential incompatibility, allergies, and so on.

Ultimately, it's your responsibility to choose a pet that fits with your lifestyle and expectations. You and your family must prepare well before adopting a pet. Make sure your backyard and house are secure and safe for a pet. Think about whether you can meet the needs of the pet. If you have a high-energy animal, you have to exercise it often. If you have a jumper, then be sure your fence and gates are high enough to keep it secure before you take it home.

Research what kind of temperament you want in a pet. Learn how to identify these traits, so you know what you're getting. For a dog, google how to test a dog's temperament for tips. My 12-year old daughter researched online and at the library all summer long how to care for and train a dog, and how to test for temperament.

It's not always possible to identify every quirk or issue that a pet may have. So it's important for the adopter to know this and be willing to work with the animal to find solutions.

The shop rescues mainly small pets. I'm guessing that most of the dogs are less than 20 pounds. Ours is 12 pounds. Also, I did not see any very young puppies; there were kittens. Most dogs seem to be adults. Ours is 2 years old, which I think is the perfect age.

Some perks: The dogs at Adopt & Shop have their rabies and dhpp/bord shots and are de-wormed. They are neutered or spayed. They are also microchipped for identification. When you adopt, you receive a voucher for a free pet exam at one of many participating veterinary clinics. Given all these services provided, the adoption fee is reasonable to me. The shop also sells all the accessories needed (crates, leashes and collars, pet food, toys) to get started.

The shop is a part of FoundAnimals, a nonprofit that rescues animals from being euthanized. Google Found Animals Foundation--it seems like a good organization.

Adopt & Shop is a great resource. Prepare your home, do your research, and make a few visits to educate yourself and find the right pet for you. That's exactly what we did, and we are so happy with the sweet little guy we adopted.

I find this store to be a wonderful concept and I'm grateful it exists. I've just recently adopted a little boy chihuahua who was 7 months old. He gets along beautifully with my other pets and even slept by my side on the first night, it's as though this dog was specially made for me. The staff informed me of his history and made sure that I FULLY understood what he needed. I spoke to Savana and Josh, two of the staff members. I am amazed how much time, energy and love these people put into the store. I've also heard about some of the negativity that these people put up with and I'm truly saddened by how insensitive some people can be. Adopt and Shop is a safe haven for animals who are given a second chance at life. The animals are well fed, groomed and loved with the hopes that soon they would find a permanent loving home. I consider myself an animal lover and am totally on board with what this non-profit organization is doing. I just wish so badly that more people would do what Adopt and Shop does. From my heart of hearts, thank you Adopt and Shop for doing what you do.

Adopt & Shop is such a special and unique place. If you are interested in finding a dog or cat for your family, I highly recommend Adopt & Shop. We adopted our dog from Adopt & Shop in late August 2013. We are over the moon in love with our dog and we are so grateful to Adopt & Shop.

Julie F. is a ridiculous person/dog owner. These dogs are RESCUE animals! Of course the adopt and shop doesn't know their backgrounds or full behavior. Do you think animal adoption facilities have thousands of dollars to have these dogs live on a freaking ranch?!?! You have to bring these dogs home and have enough love, effort and INTELLIGENCE to train the dogs.

What an ignorant person. I hope that dog didn't get hurt from your negligence. The adopt and shop is saving these dogs from kill shelters, they are doing a wonderful thing.

My advice to Julie F. is get a fish or something that requires absolutely no effort. That may even be a challenge....

I was getting ready to sell my house in the RSM area last year, and through a friend got in contact with G&A, Although the project was painting my entire house, inside and out, based on the quality of my friend's remodeling projects I was confident of my choice to have G&A do the work. Their painting crew was First Class / Top Notch all the way through -- I'd call the job Perfect in every way. Supreme attention to detail all the way from furniture moving to surface cleaning and prep, to priming all surfaces to finished color coat(s), it made my house look new again -- a wonderful transformation. The prices were reasonable and the finished project impeccable! I can enthusiastically recommend G&A for ANY project you may be contemplating.

This really isn't a review I have never been there what I want to address is the negative reviews. i am an animal activist and do what is call posting and cross posting trying to cut down on the 1000 of dogs killed across this country each and every day. First these dog need time to adjust there scared, they seem friendly but they need time to get to know you and for you to know them. When a rescue does an adoption they usually take it slow but they have fosters who have kept the dog or cat in a family setting and know what's up with the animal. This is a little different these dogs and cats are rescued and then they need to find them a home. Good rule of thumb take your time with the animal its been through a lot when it was at the kill shelter it could smell fear, death humans all those smells and it really makes them scared and almost a little crazy. But with love and patients that dog or cat will settle in and become one of the family. No they don't know what the dogs past is they are just wanting to save it from dying. And this is for lady who spoke with the young women who did't look out for the cats best interest. remember they are volunteers. It is possible that she was doing this for a class, courts or maybe be she did because it sounded cool. But please don't let her faux pas keep a wonderful animal from having a home.

I'm surprised at all the bad reviews. I reseaved wonderful service and adopted an incredible little kitty. We were able to take him out several times and talked to multiple people before adopting him. Everyone was very kind and informed. The adoption process was quick and painless unlike plenty of adoption places that allow their cats and dogs to sit there for months. The cages were very clean and the animals were very well kept. The volenteers were sincerly interested in the animals and cared for each very well.
The food they were feeding him was of good quality. The play rooms were stimulating for the cats and comfortable for the people.
The free vet visit was great, the vet office was close to us and full of very kind people. Russel checked out with a clean bill of health.

All and all I really enjoyed the adoption process and am in love with my new kitten.

We adopted our dog from here last week and she has been a wonderful addition to our family! She is sweet and has such a great disposition. The shop is clean and you can tell they take great care of the animals there. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the volunteers were great!!! This Adopt & Shop is a fantastic concept and I wish them nothing but success. What a wonderful thing these people are doing!!!! Keep up the great work!!!

This is a fabulous concept that should be spread everywhere.
As for Julie, she states that her 12" dog jumped her 6' fence TWICE. Rather than blame the good people at Adopt & Shop, perhaps she should ask herself why SHE didn't realize after the first time that her dog should not have been left out there unattended. Just saying...

Love this place great concept. This is the perfect thing to replace that sadbpuppy mill pet shop that was here! Pets are brought from high kill shelters and given a second chance at life. Love this place volunteers are very friendly! Stop in and find your forever friend today :)

We just recently adopted the newest member to our family "Cutter" here. I knew I didn't want a "pet store" dog and love the concept of the adopt and shop. Somehow our dog was meant to be with our family and he's already made himself very much at home. Why buy when you can rescue, such a great way to save these dogs that otherwise might not have seen tomorrow.

I just wanted to give a shout out and say thanks Adpot a Shop for bringing Josie into our lives! We (my boyfriend and I) came here one afternoon after hearing that the Mission Viejo pet store opened up a "save innocent poor animals from euthanization at animal shelters like Orange County and LA" adoption shop. The store was pumping with people and the small windows were filled with little eyes looking to for a home. The staff was very attentive to our wants - we were looking for a female, tame, Chihuahua preferably. And low and behold a staff member pointed us toward Josie. They let us take her into a separate room and then we asked if it was possible to see what she was like walking on a leash. So she led us out of the mall where we got to see little Josie walking on a leash. We bought her right then and there.

Josie has been the best thing that's ever happened to us. Thank you so much Adopt A Shop for saving her from euthanization. I recommend anyone looking for a dog, or cat, to come here. It's not as stressful as going to the shelter and picking an animal out among all the little faces and you can feel good about doing it because you helped save a life, instead of prompting breeding.

    THIS PLACE IS GREAT!!

I recently adopted my new dog from here and she is wounderful and the staff was AMAZING!!! This place takes dogs from kill shelters shortly before they will be put down and gives them a second chance to find a loving home. They only bring in dogs that have the best chance of finding a home so they are usually good dogs.

For all of you that talked down on this place you should be ASHAMED of yourself. This place is run by volunteers that actually spend their free time saving animals lives...yes they may not have the longest personal history with the dogs but they provide you all the documentation from the shelter they were taken from and take their time in answering any questions you may have. Plus they will always take one of their dogs back for any reason. The fee is very reasonable and they give you a discount on everything in the store when you adopt your animal. My dog was fixed and had all her shots and we recently cleaned and groomed.

If you want to call yourself a dog lover, dont go to a pet store or a breeder, PLEASE ADOPT, and this is a great place to adopt from.

It's great to see places like these who help shelter animals find their forever homes. By placing themselves in this high traffic upscale shopping mall, they make themselves easily accessible to many people. They also seem to be asking for reasonable prices for their shelter pets which seem to include their vaccinations, spay or neuter and microchip. Unlike other pet stores that get greedy and support puppy mills who charge you an arm and a leg for a pet. What still amazes me is that people will pay close to a thousand dollars or more for these cross breeds that seem to be the latest trend. You've heard of them, "Lhasa-poos", "Labradoodles", and "Pomapoos" to name a few. To people in the animal medical industry, a mixed breed is a mixed breed.

I took a quick stroll through this cute store and was glad to see a few of the windows empty as the dogs and cats were out playing and being introduced to people who very well may be providing them with their future forever homes. I hope that businesses of these types do well and stay around for the community.

I have to wholeheartedly agree with Hamid and definitely have an issue with the comments that Julie F. posted. I feel sorry that her dog ran away, however to turn that into a fierce criticism of the Adopt & Shop store an its volunteers is too much.
The animals at Adopt & Shop are taken from kill shelters.
They literally were/are on death row with only days left to live. This organization has taken it upon itself to rescue cats and dogs from certain death and bring them to the attention of mall shoppers who otherwise may never have thought of adopting a pet from a shelter. They are heroes in my book!

I have been using Cesar at G&A flooring for all of my remodeling projects (about 10 properties in past 4 years). He handles our flooring, tubs, showers, granite and all tile work. Great guy.
